Rotaract is a worldwide youth network for 18-30's. Rotary International founded Rotaract in 1968 to encourage young people to take part in their community.
what does a Rotaract Club do?
Rotaractors get involved in the community any way they can. This includes social events, charity events and fundraising, personal and professional development. The types of tasks carried out can be volunteer work, organising events or participating in events. There is the opportunity to further develop professional skills through serving on the board of the club and district.
what is the connection with Rotary?
A Rotary club sponsors each Rotaract club. Rotary members are generally not directly involved in running the club, but offer very valuable support and mentorship. We will occasionally have joint meetings and events with Rotary clubs.
how does it all fit together?
Rotaract, like Rotary, is organised into districts. There are three districts in the Sydney metropolitan area. Our district is 9750 and stretches from the city to Kiama and Picton.
how many Rotaract Clubs are there?
There are clubs throughout the world and some 30 clubs in Sydney. There are five clubs in district 9750 - Campbelltown, Sydney City, Como-Jannali, University of Wollongong and University of NSW.
