ROTARACT ON RADIO! - President Matt interviewed on C91.3!
On sunday night Matt was interviewed by Captain Pat, about the club and some of our events
Discobility!
‘Discobility!’ was put together as a joint project between Campbelltown Rotaract, Campbelltown Rotary and Macarthur Sunrise Rotary as a social get together for people with disabilities in the Macarthur region. Twenty eight clients and their carers came along on the night for dancing, singing, a sausage sizzle and plenty of drinks to go around, and by all accounts everyone had a great time. The feedback from Disabilities Services was super positive and we also received some great suggestions for the next one, which we’re hoping to hold shortly into the next Rotaract year.
Mount Annan Challenge Walk
Campbelltown Rotaract joined Campbelltown Rotary in feeding the masses that turned up to participate in the walk
Over 2000 people joined in the event, far more than was expected! (or catered for!)
A very good day, with the only hiccup being we ran out of bread and had to find more!
Movie Marathon
Campbelltown Rotaract hosted it's 2nd Annual Movie Marathon, and made a very good effort of it managing to watch 17 movies over the weekend!
The A - Z theme was highly popular with some attendees dressing up as their favourite character.
Basket Brigade
Campbelltown Rotaract joined the District in packing 2000 Christmas hampers with the Basket Brigade Crew.
The hampers were packed with fresh food, canned goods and Christmas presents and delivered all over Sydney.
After a big day on the assembly line, we headed out for some much needed drinks!
District 9750 Christmas Party
This year the district christmas party was held at Jamberoo Recreation Park.
Much fun was had by all who attended, despite the rain.
A big thanks to DRR Steve for a great day!
Fisher's Ghost Festival
Campbelltown Rotaract joined in on the festivities by helping Campbelltown Rotary with their barbeque at the Street Fair.
President Matt also helped Macarthur Sunrise by buying some of their raffle tickets!
It was a long hot day, but it was worth it to see the enjoyment of the locals at this great annual event.
CJR Weekend Away
President Matt had a fantastic weekend at lake Macquarie once again this year.
This year's theme for the costume party, being the letter 'A', ensured that there were some interesting outfits as well as a lot of angels.
The relaxing surroundings and the enthusiatic atmosphere of fellow rotaractors makes it a thoroughly enjoyable experience,
and makes it a great way to get to know members from other clubs in the district.
Congratulations to the organising commitee for a successful weekend!
Breaking News!
We are pleased to announce that we have secured a permanent venue once more!
The Club is grateful to Campbelltown Catholic Club for donating one of their meeting rooms on an ongoing basis.
A big thank you to rotarian Anita, from Macarthur Sunrise, for her assistance with our new venue.
International Dinner
The club was dazzled by Rotary exchange student Marina's dvd presentation on Brazil at the previous meeting.
So we thought it would be a wonderful idea to host an International Barbeque!
The dinner was a great success with a diverse range of internationally themed food provided by all.
It was great to have members from Macarthur Sunrise Rotary Club in attendance for our dinner.
A big thank you to all who attended and contributed to the flavour of the evening.
Campbelltown Rotaract Wins Trivia Night!
Campbelltown Rotaract, along with Tracey, Chad, and Michelle from Como-Jannali Rotaract outclassed everyone at UOW Rotaract's Heroes vs Villains Trivia Night.
Buckie won the Best Dressed Male Superhero, looking very patriotic in his Austrialian Flag Cape.
After 4 rounds it was clear that we were sitting comfortably in the lead, and managed to maintain the lead right to the end!
A big thank you to all those responsible for the win!
Congratulations to UOW Rotaract for a fantastic event.
District 9750 Rotary Conference
President Matt was among the 32 Rotaractor's that braved the cold, and Rotarians, in Canberra to promote Rotaract at the District Conference. Rotaract had the most colourful and lively information booth at the conference and the limes and strawberry's we were selling were a big success.
The Great Rotaract Debate was also a successful and informative event, and made an impact on those that were there.
After the conference, we enjoyed the night life and karaoke with members from Canberra Rotaract.
Daffodil Day
Once again this year Campbelltown Rotaract took part in daffodil day with Campbelltown Rotary.
This year over $3,600 was raised in total.
Well done all!
Club Changeover
This year saw Campbelltown Rotaract have it's 36th changeover dinner.
The dinner was well attended with members from Campbelltown Rotary and CJR joining us for a delightful evening and enormous desserts.
A big thank you and congratulations on a good year as President to Coralie.
President Matthew has a lot to live up to this year and big plans to put into place to explode the club's profile and kickstart some life back into the oldest rotaract club in the district.
